  Works perfect with Music sync, paired to iPad. It has a mic/sensor on the control listening to music devices around and LED would interact with the sound. You can also pair it so the music app on your mobile devices, so awesome! Keep in mind this doesn't connect to wifi (no google no alexa), so it's technically not Smart. Still a great deal, I bought it for $20 when Amazon offered a lightning deal.
  
  Yes the strip can be cut and trimmed, they dont recommend trimming coz it would shorten the lighting effect, say if it suppose to loop like a snake effect, or Rainbow with 7 colors, you be losing ending colors.
